If you have an orthodontic emergency or need immediate assistance, please call the office at 250-542-4118 for the emergency contact number.

Please read below for more information about our new office procedures we are following during the pandemic.

We hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Our global and local communities have been through a life-changing period and we are all hoping to return to some sense of normalcy soon. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our clinic, as you have experienced during all your previous visits. In light of current events, we want to tell you about the infection control protocols we currently follow and will continue to follow in our practice to keep patients, staff and our community safe.

Our clinic follows infection control protocols made by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. We will continue to follow these recommendations so that we are current to any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment as we have thoroughly re-vamped the structure of our clinic protocol from the time you enter to the time you leave.

  •  You will be asked some COVID pre-screening questions when you arrive for your appointment.  We ask that if anyone is your household is feeling unwell, that we reschedule your appointment.
  • Please brush and floss prior to coming to the clinic as our tooth brushing stations will temporarily only be used for handwashing
  • To minimize the number of people in the clinic, we will now have a virtual waiting room. When you arrive to the clinic for your appointment, please remain in your vehicle and contact the office to check in. When we are ready to see you, we will notify you when to come up into the clinic. We do ask for the patient to come up by themselves without an escort, if possible.  If the patient needs an escort this will be limited to one parent or guardian only and the escort will be required to wear a mask.
  • We will have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will find some in the reception area and other areas in the clinic for you to use as needed. We ask you to please refrain from touching anything with your hands in the clinic.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.  This may mean that you will be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointments. Upon completing your appointment, we will schedule the next appointment and communicate with your family if necessary.
  • We will always have PPE on to protect us and you. We can still see your smile, and we hope you can see ours too.
As always, we look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

We would like to thank you for being our patient and we value your patience as we work through all these changes.

Sincerely,

The Team at North Okanagan Orthodontic Clinic
